John Perouty is back!! The HYLAX originator, starting the program in 2008, after moving to Texas from Maryland will be head coaching the Houston LC High School Team & Assist with the 2033's.
Without a lacrosse program for his 3rd grade son to play, Coach Perouty worked with the HYLAX board to start the Hornets 5-6th grade team. The inaugural team led by Coach Perouty and Dr. David Lintner started the winning tradition at HYLAX by taking the 2008 5-6th grade city championship. Since then, the program has grown to over 325 boys and girls with teams ranging from Kindergarten thru 8th grade.
Coach Perouty has deep lacrosse roots!! Originally from Baltimore, Maryland where he played in the MIAA for Archbishop Curley HS lettering 4 years in lacrosse and 3 years in football. Coach Perouty was a long stick midfield at the University of Maryland for lacrosse legend Richard “Dick” Edell. His son Ryan who was on the first Hornets team had a distinguished career at the Virginia Military Institute and is now a 1st LT in the U.S. Army.
Coach Perouty spent 4 years at Episcopal High School serving as Head Coach and OC, 3 years with St John’s School as OC, and 6 years with the Houston Hurricanes Club.
Patrick Kennedy joins Houston LC as an assistant coach for our High School team, and we are excited to have him on board! Coach Kennedy is a standout lacrosse player with an impressive collegiate career. As a four-year starter at Villanova, he earned honors such as USILA Division I All-American Honorable Mention and was named to the All-BIG EAST First and Second Teams. He ranks third all-time for caused turnovers at Villanova, showcasing his defensive prowess. Before his collegiate success, Coach Kennedy earned four varsity letters as a defenseman at West Morris Central High School, where he set a school record with 384 ground balls. His high school accolades include 1st Team All-State honors in 2016, three selections to the 2nd Team All-State, and two NJAC 1st Team recognitions. His dedication and skill on the field have paved the way for a remarkable lacrosse journey, and we look forward to the impact he will have on our players!
Coach Bearden was highly decorated as a four-year starter at All Saints’ Episcopal School, Adrenaline All-American, All-Conference selection and Three-time Faceoff Academy National Showcase participant, including the Elite Eight in 2017. Additionally, he received All-State honors in 2016 and was Dick’s Sporting Goods Tournament of Champions Runner-up.
Coach Bearden was an All-American Face-Off Specialist at Southwestern University. While at Southwestern, he was the top-ranked faceoff specialist in the NCAA at 80.5% in 2021 (highest single-season faceoff percentage in NCAA D3 history) and 5th in ground balls per game with 12.4!!! Coach Bearden is 2nd in all-time D3 career faceoff win percentage. We could go on about his collegiate accolades, but we don’t have enough character space!
Coach Bearden is currently serving as the Director of Texas Faceoff Academy (FOA), where he trains and develops the faceoff position across the great State of Texas. He has helped develop and mentor some of the top faceoff men in Texas and the nation.
Coach Tracy hails from Friendswood, Texas where he was a standout Defensemen for Friendswood High School and the Houston Hounds. After High School, Sean played D3 NCAA at Southwestern University and made Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Honor Roll in 2021. Previously, Sean was the Defensive Coordinator for his alma mater Friendswood high school.
Interesting fact about Coach Tracy: Sean works at his families powersport dealership, UVC Powersports Tractors and Outdoors in Alvin, Texas.
2030 HLC Head Coach, Erinn O’Hara. Erinn is from Syracuse, NY and played high school lacrosse at the Salisbury School in Connecticut, where he won 2 New England Founders League Championships. He played both Attack and Midfield at D3 NCAA Nazareth College in Rochester, NY. Erinn has coached at numerous high schools, including Seven Lakes HS, St. Thomas HS, Round Rock HS, and Kingwood HS. He has also coached at Third Coast Lacrosse and Iron Horse HTX. Erinn is currently the MS Director and Varsity Assistant at The Kinkaid School and owns and operates @laxtutors , a program that provides elite small group training as well as online coaches resources.
An interesting fact about Coach O'Hara is he participates in ultra distance events. His furthest running event has been the 100 mile Rocky Raccoon in Huntsville, TX.
Coach Decker is the 2030 assistant coach and defensive coordinator. Coach Decker began playing lacrosse in 2nd grade in New Jersey. He attended Chatham High School where he was a three-year starter at Midfield. He then moved on to play NCAA Division 1 lacrosse at Colgate University for four years, where he was a three-year starter and Team Captain as a Senior. While at Colgate, he earned a Bachelor’s Degree in History.
Taking advantage of his extra year of eligibility, he transferred to Rutgers University where he started every game at Short Stick Defensive Midfield. He graduated from Rutger’s in May of 2023 with a Master’s in Financial Analysis.
Coach Decker is currently the Head Coach for Episcopal High School. Previously, he had his own lacrosse training business in Morris County, New Jersey, and coached his alma mater Chatham High School in their summer tournaments and winter training sessions.
Coach Cody is the Head coach and offensive coordinator for the 2031's. Cody is also currently the Offensive Coordinator at Friendswood HS Varsity . Previously he was the Head Coach and Program Director at both Clear Lake High School and Clear Springs High School, as well as the Offensive Coordinator for Pearland High School. He has also coached club ball for the Houston Hounds, Dirty Birds, and Space Cowboys. Cody is a local product from Clear Lake HS and played D2 NCAA college ball at Mars Hill University under legendary UNC Coach Dave Klarmann, where was an attackman.
Coach Eamon will be assistant coach for the 2031's and act as defensive coordinator. Eamon has coached at the Emery Weiner School, as well as at HYLAX, over the past two seasons. Eamon grew up in Long Island, New York and played both high school lacrosse and soccer for the Chaminade Flyers. Eamon then played D3 NCAA as a Defensive Midfielder at Centre College in Kentucky. He was elected All-Conference as a SSDM in 2015.
Interesting fact about Coach DeLay: Eamon met his wife at Oktoberfest while working for the Department of Defense in Germany.

Coach Andrew Fredricks will join the 2032 team as Assistant Coach and defensive Coordinator. Originally from Katy, TX, Coach Fredricks played high school lacrosse at Seven Lakes before continuing his education and lacrosse career at Texas A&M. There, he majored in Industrial Distribution and earned 1st Team All-Conference honors as an LSM. Most recently, he was the Defensive Coordinator at Memorial High School.
Ethan has been the Head Coach at Pershing Middle School for the last three years. He has also coached the Houston Cougars High School Summer program as well. Coach McQuerry grew up in Houston, Texas and attended high school at Strake Jesuit College Preparatory. Ethan then played D1 MCLA as a SSDM and LSM at Texas Tech University. While in college, he played Box for the Enforcers in the Dallas Box Lacrosse League.
Interesting fact about Coach McQuerry: He is fluent in Mandarin Chinese.

Coach Hilbe is the 2034/35 Head Coach. Coach Hilbe graduated high school from Strake Jesuit here in Houston. He played MCLA lacrosse at the University of Houston where he was an all conference defender and team captain. Tim has coached in the Houston lacrosse community for a number of years. He was most recently the Magnolia Head varsity lacrosse Head Coach. Prior to that he started Travis Lacrosse Club, program director of Richmond Grizzly youth program and 2019 winner of the TXLOA Houston Sam Chambers Sportsmanship Award!
Fun Fact: Coach Hilbe runs the St Arnolds Mens League team which competes in the Odyssee Lacrosse League in Houston.
